Artwork
Creative expression came to Evangeline as easily as her own handwriting and her ‘artistic signature’ was just as unique and individual. She focused on painting in various media but also experimented with ceramics at one point in her life. But, of course, it was the painting of those objects that ultimately carried her recognizable style. When you explore the galleries you will find that most of them are organized by the place that they were conceived, and the various themes she chose to paint are woven through the places Evangeline lived or visited. There are also many themes that she re-visited frequently such as her series of paintings of the well-loved basswood tree that held a special place in the back yard of her home in Mississauga and in her heart.
